We are what we eat and in Ayurveda we take this to heart. Food affects the mind as well as the body, therefore food is essential to sustain a good and healthy life. If food is prepared and consumed inappropriately it becomes the root cause of many diseases. To have benefits from food one needs proper knowledge. Ayurveda recommends eating sattvic food. Sattvic foods are fresh, light, and help to clear the mind. Also, consumed food plays a big role on the behavior and character of a person so if your food is pure and natural, then your brain will be healthy and active.
Further, Ayurveda food habits help in strengthening immune system and assisting the digestive system in functioning more effectively. Cooking and eating ayurvedically is a very intuitive and joyful process. It is a way to practice self-care and self-love. When the food is prepared with thoughts of love and care, it travels into those around you.
